The Year In Numbers

Our membership coalition of 12 Children’s Advocacy Centers provided the following services to 6,133 child victims of abuse:
73% of cases involve child sexual abuse
16% involved physical abuse
8,201 services (forensic interviews, medical exams, mental health services and referrals) were provided

Through our Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Service Enhancement Project, MACA introduced 12 positions dedicated to a specialized response for 1,188 victims of CSEC:
17% were under the age of 12
55% experienced multiple types of victimization

Annually, Massachusetts has 1,800 PSB cases
98% of children and youth with PSBs who receive early and effective interventions don’t reoffend and instead grow into healthy adults.
We trained 25 clinicians in PSB-CBT from six CACs and their mental health partners
We educated more than 2,500 multidisciplinary professionals and community members on PSB and the services available.

MACA held 2 virtual conferences in September 2020 and May 2021
327 multidisciplinary professionals and community members attended
97.6% said the conferences met or exceeded their expectations
96.8% said the conferences were a valuable professional/personal development experience.
